FCHS Marching Band Is a Class "A" State Finalist For The First Time

Floyd Central High School’s marching band has reached a major milestone as the ensemble prepares for the biggest performance of the season.

For the first time, the Floyd Central Highlander Band & Emerald Guard has made it to the Indiana State School Music Association state finals in the Class A level with its show “Canary.” This Saturday, the band will compete against nine other high schools at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

$12,323 Granted to NAFC Teachers in November Through Great Classroom Projects

Congratulations to the NAFC Education Foundation's November Great Classroom Project recipients! 19 projects were funded in NAFCS classrooms all across the district for a total of $12,323 this month. This program has provided over $77,000 in classroom resources this year and over $900,000 since 2011. Thank you to our generous Legacy NAFC members for providing for our students and teachers!

$36,722 in Classroom Grants Awarded in August

We are thrilled to announce our first round of Great Classroom Project grants were approved today! 65 projects were funded in NAFCS classrooms all across the district for a total of $36,722 this month. This program has provided nearly $900,000 in classroom resources since 2011. Congratulations to our outstanding educators and thank you to our Legacy NAFC members who make these projects and more possible.

NAFCS students and alumni compete in Miss Indiana, Miss Indiana's Outstanding Teen

Miss Northeast's Outstanding Teen is Ellise Edwards, 17, of Corydon. A student at Floyd Central High School, Ellise’s talent is dance and her social impact initiative is “Blessings In a Backpack.” Our Floyd County Blessings in a Backpack program is feeding every kid who qualifies for Blessings in the Floyd County school district! Other FCHS and NAHS grads and students will complete for Miss Indiana and Miss Indiana's Outstanding Teen.

NAHS Alumni, Rondale Moore, signs 4-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals
